My views on Self-Defense

Like most Canadians I feel that the U.S.'s "right to bear arms" is of dubious value; however, I think that owning weapons is a priviledge, not a right—like owning an auto. I do believe in the right to self-defense, but not fatal self-defense—incapacitative self-defense, definitely. Unfortunately, I've heard tazers can cause heart attacks, but the New Brunswck RCMP are using them (oh no!)

It's a shame Ronald Reagan didn't die sooner.

I know that assassin in '81 was a lunatic, but still, if that attempt had worked, most of the social programs that he cut would still be around, and most of the other social programs would'nt be in so many pieces (ditto for Mulroney and Thatcher.) Oh, sure, he was gentle onscreen, but so was Bing Crosby, and in person he was a jerk. Ronald Reagan's fervent anti-communism ruined Nicaragua and made him start that whole 'Star Wars' thang, so, in my opinion, that man should never have become president of the U.S.A.
